I just got a collect call from jail that I had to reject, because I don't know a Bert who sounds slightly panicked to be in jail. I hope he gets another call! Ouch.

This weekend has been an adventure at Joe's. Friday night we went out to dinner and then a bit of karaoke (until we got smoked out). When we got home and settled in, I sat on the futon (gently!), and it promptly collapsed. It's been having some problems for a while (a huge chunk of wood came off of it some time ago), and this was the end for it. Really, it just needs some new stretcher rails, but it seems that finding replacement parts isn't that easy.
Later on I discovered that the toothbrush Joe had bought for me to use at his house was all wet! He forgot it was mine and used it, because his was in his overnight bag from being at my house. Then yesterday he gave me a towel to use that he'd been sitting on AND THAT HE FARTED ON. I got a different towel. Both these incidents caused much cracking up.
There was additional breakage yesterday: Joe dropped a bowl on the kitchen floor, and then his Three Stooges cookie jar that he'd bought off eBay was totally smashed during shipping. Not a good weekend.
We're going to have to work our butts off this week because we're going back to LBI on Thursday for his cousin's wedding on Friday. Then we'll spend the rest of the weekend there since there is a huge outdoor sale and a chowderfest.

I met Joe a year ago today! Of course, he didn't ask me out for two months, so it's still a while before we're been together a year. But hooray for Grad Night at the Den. It doesn't seem to happen anymore, but it was fun while it lasted (and got me a hottie).

The shore was wonderful... the weather was beautiful every day, and we were only like 2 blocks from the beach, so we could go whenever we wanted. We really had no desire to leave on Saturday. I kinda want to go back next weekend.
In other news, I got my grant from the CDC. This is good, because it means money, but it's bad because it means having to do more research when I already have enough for my dissertation and I am busy with job hunting and a million other things.
