okcupid continues to fascinate me. (by the way, adoring fans, you should sign up so you can write me a glowing testimonial.) i'm browsing through the people who it says are similar to me, and it's quite insulting. there's this guy from colorado whose profile has a million typos (and i'm friend 71% with him; how is this similar?), this guy from texas (enough said; also, he seems to be something of a druggie, and in particular smokes), and this guy from chicago who is obviously a hipster and way "cooler" than me. none of these people seem similar to me at all; i don't see why you would like me if you liked them, or vice versa, and they don't have high match or friend percentages. i am curious as to how the algorithm works.

all of which scotches my plan to stalk... uh, research people by looking at their comparables for more data. still, perhaps it provides just enough context (my new pet theory of relationships, apparently; don't worry, i'll get over it) for things to work out.

perhaps.
