i haven't been this excited in many weeks. over the past month or so, i've been flitting around in these two-week situations, making transient friendships. i've been extremely surprised at how proficient i've become at doing this; i quickly obtained a working friendship with both the people in vancouver and the people here. the key point is that the playing field was level; i wasn't with a group of people who knew each other better than i knew any of them. that situation still has me stymied, but i'm working on it. meeting so many new people has given me the raw material to send my brain into one of its top-notch modes, though unfortunately (for you) i expended much of it via the nose. but it's also given me a greater appreciation for permanence. i can't wait to get back to berkeley and pick up [more] permanent things and run with them, in the ways that i ought to have been doing all this time instead of moping.
i'm rekindling my sense of daring, mostly, and it's time to have some fun. i can't wait to see all you guys again.
