i know i haven't blogged in a while but some things really bear mentioning.

first, i will be representing the usa on us junior team 2 at the junior world championships in bangkok, thailand next summer. second, phillip alder wrote a completely incorrect, slanderous bridge column today in the new york times about a deal from the junior team trials (which my team of four lost in the finals.) andy didn't pass over four spades; he bid five hearts. and the play is also wrong; heart ruffed in dummy, diamond ruffed by me, and i did lead a club, but andy just forgot to overtake. how you get things so wrong is beyond me. how you don't ask us to verify accuracy as a professional journalist is also beyond me.

andy is made out to be some sort of incompetent for no good reason. welcome to my enemies list, phillip alder.
