ACBL District 21Unit 497: BER

Don't miss our BBQ Swiss: 12 noon and 5:45 pm at the El Cerrito Community Center (7007 Moeser, El Cerrito), on Saturday, May 17. This semiannual tradition is filled with excellent bridge and excellent dinner between sessions (free to unit members, $7 for others.)

Location change: All club games are back at Arlington Clubhouse, effective through the end of the school year at least.

Welcome to the website for Unit 497 of the American Contract Bridge League, covering Berkeley, Albany, El Cerrito, Richmond, San Pablo, Pinole, Crockett, and Rodeo. This webpage contains information about the officers, club games (including results), and unit games and special events, as well as some bridge links.

Here are the current officers of the BER board.

Unit games are on the 4th Sunday of the month, at 1:00 PM, except in December, where there is a 7:45 PM holiday game on the 2rd Saturday of the month (this is often a STAC game, and will be this year.) All games are stratified, with stratifications based on the masterpoint totals of the attendees. The July game doubles as the North American Pairs (NAP) local qualifier. Unit games are currently held at the Arlington Clubhouse (1120 Arlington Boulevard, El Cerrito.)

In addition, there is a BBQ Swiss event held twice a year: on the second/third Saturday in May (subject to facility availability; occasionally a STAC if the event coincides with Western Conference STAC week), and on the third Saturday in September, both at 12 pm. These games are at the El Cerrito Community Center (7007 Moeser Lane, El Cerrito.) Unit members dine free on delicious food between sessions; non-members are charged $7.00, still well worth it. If you have questions about unit events, contact Mark Kornmann, (510) 528-5351 (home), (510) 932-6064 (cell).
