LIve Oak Bridge Club News – November 2005 (send your email address to lzeni@comcast.net) Holiday Parties – Best Wishes to Everyone Yes, it is that time of year already. The Holiday parties are Free Play days for all members. You are asked to bring a treat to share. The Xmas party will be on Wed. Dec. 21st. Those with last names beginning with A-K are asked to bring food. The New Years party will be Fri. Jan. 6th. Last names beginning with L-Z are asked to bring food to share. Board of Directors – Live Oak Wants YOU! The club is run by a Board of Directors elected annually by the members. Directors meet a handful of times during the year, usually after a game, to take care of club business. We would like you to serve on the board. To nominate yourself, or someone else, please contact Larry Zeni, or another board member. Berkeley-El Cerrito-Richmond (BER) Unit Games The BER Unit Game is the 4th Sunday of each month at 1PM at the El Cerrito Community Center, usually in the Skylight Room, occasionally in the elegant City Council chambers. It needs your participation to survive. Fee is only $5, including a bountiful spread of food. The next game on Sunday Nov. 27th is an ACBL charity game, with an extra $1 fee going to charity. The December game will be the Holiday Party, with singing, and a wonderful holiday spread. It is on a special day and time: 7 PM on Saturday Dec. 17th. Sectional Tournament at Clubs (STAC) Game On Wed. Dec. 7th, and Fri. Dec. 9th, we will hold Great Western Region STAC games. These allow you to compete against many other players in clubs throughout the West. If you do well, you can win lots of extra points. The club pays the extra fees associated with this event, so the cost to you is the same as a normal club game. 12:15 Arlington Park HELP Save Monday Bridge in El Cerrito You’ve seen this headline before. I’m sure you’ll like it. Game times are 12:30 and at 7:15 in the evening at the El Cerrito Community Center. The evening game is perfect for all of you who have daytime work.
